This was purchased for a Synology 2419+II NAS. It is easy enough to assemble (but do pay attention the instructions to make sure you get everything correctly oriented and if only installing one NVMe drive, make sure to put it in the correct one of the two slots. You should be aware that you appear to need identical NVMe drives if using two of them, and if you only use one, you can only have read caching and not write caching. The UI on the caching could be much more clear (in DSM 7) in my opinion. I initially only purchased one NVMe device and it configured everything "automatically" for read caching. It makes it look like write caching is still an option, but once you try to go there, the UI will tell you you don't have a sufficient number of drives. I ordered a second drive, and then the UI still wouldn't let me enable the write caching in the obvious way. (Still generated error messages.) In the end, I had to delete the read cache drive, and start the whole UI flow over with two drives to have the option for write caching. After all the effort, in the end, the warning messages around write caching ended up scaring me off from even using it. Know what you're doing, and what you're risking, by wanting this feature.
